BYE MY DEAR ROBY
Hi everybody! Here’s my translation of the second part of the interview. I’m sorry for the big delay but I’ve been busy and I couldn’t do it sooner. I hope to give you the translation of the third part of the interview as soon as possible. Sorry for my English mistakes.
Vittorio: I already know a lot of answers to many questions we have asked each other during these 14 years of friendship but the answer almost everybody wants to know giving you this baton of value and reliability where passion has been the frame for your life, where reliability has been the fuel for making you work more and more and making you overcome the obstacles day by day and moving your limits further on….for many people this heritage cannot be wasted and many people ask theirselves why doesn’t Roberto bring all his knowledge, his passion, his resolution to the world of soccer or of the sport generally? obviously to the world of soccer particularly because that was your job
Roberto: I think I’ve always wanted to be far from the limelight, I’ve never liked the limelight and I think the fact that I speak every now ad then is the proof of that, but it’s part of my nature. I believe in very simple things that maybe don’t rouse people’s interest, that’s the way I am, this is a period where I’m living like that and I like it, I feel good with that. I know the experience I’ve learned in my soccer carrier can help someone some day but until I won’t find the mainspring that make me spring into action I’ll better stay away from soccer because I think there must be a serious deep motivation. When I’ll feel involved again I’ll decide what to do but not now, I don’t need it now and I’m fine with that.
Vittorio: in the meantime next Monday you’ll be 41
(Roby laughs)
Roby: Mind your own business! (Vittorio laughs)
Vittorio: The blog friends connect and chat and get in touch with each other every day…there’s maybe a topic which they’ve never heard your opinion about…we’re in a country such as Italy where there’s much warmth but at this moment we hardly manage to achieve something for our future like hope and joy…Roby, according to you, what’s missing in Italy so that a little more joy and optimism can reach common people?
Roby: mmhh…I think there’s not only one thing that’s missing in people but if I have to mention one I think people has given up all their hope towards everybody else and that’s very tragic..
Vittorio: But who made them give up all hope?
Roby: I think we all have given up our hope towards those who in theory should represent us (politicians) so people can hardly believe in all what they’ve told.
Vittorio: Look, I’ll say a provocation now…but in this country someone gets up in the morning and makes up a little political party, another one gets up and makes up a bigger one…
Roby: Shall we play a little match then?* (They both laugh)
*This is a word play in Italian almost impossible to translate correctly in English (at least for me). Vittorio is talking about the political situation in Italy (elections coming soon) where some of the biggest politicians have made new big parties and new smaller parties just out of nothing (in Italian “partitino”= little party; “partitone”= big party) so Roby says: “Facciamo una partitina?”=shall we play a little match then? (in Italian “partitina”= little match) so there’s the pun and so they laugh.
Glad to finally watch the last part of the interview. It's wonderful to see Roby & Vittorio laughing to heartily together.
To the greatest friendship between you two, and among the worldwide Baggisti Family, G.F.B!

I'd like to tell you more about the heart picture.
The heart was made around 00:00 on 1st,September,2007.
The candles were inside the cups as there was wind that night. There are total five colours of the cups, red, yellow, green, purpleand blue, then the candles are white. When light the candles, the colours are very nice.. Blue'Roby'was made by the sparkled plastic stick. The shining could last around three hours. We kept calling with other baggiosti in the airport, then make it shining and stick on the KT-Board when they noticed us that Roby has left the airport to Zhejiang Hotel. Then when Roby was in the room#8516 and opened the window, he saw the beautiful heart...
That moment, both Roby and all baggiosti were the happiest people.
If someone could give me the address of Roby, I'd like to send the rest part of the candles.Which is the member of this heart..
Thanks,Roby,we feel so happy.
What is so funny at the end of the second video?!
I couldn't help laughing along with Roby and Vittorio even though I didn't understand a word!!!
'Cause it is always the greatest content for me to see Roby happy, and apparently he was very happy with his best friend on his birthday. :D
P.S. for the Iranian friend: go to Altavilla and try your luck, you may run into Roby there/ :P
Hi Roberto , I love you man , I mean :D I m not gay , but I really love you , I admire you , I am Iranian who is living in USA but I m gonna come to Italy this month , and I ll be soooooooo happy to see you , plz tell me where can I find you :D in Italy !!
wish you and your family the best , I miss you in the football court so much man .
WOW, WHAT A HAPPY DAY TODAY. NOW LET'S WISH LITTLE LEO A NICE BIRTHDAY!! ^^
@ Angy & Celine: So this is exactly the big heart in Hangzhou that Roby and Vittorio mentioned in the video? I was under the impression that this photo was taken on the occasion of Roby's birthday :D Anyway, it's really beautiful and unforgettable.
Yes that beautiful heart was made by some most faithful Baggisti in Hangzhou(Roby's second stop in China, the most famous resort, too, with its West Lake).
Though I was in Beijing and not with them, I'm proud to say that they are all from Herobaggio and some are my best friends. :)
As for the wonderful picture with our hero's name in a big heart: According to Ayala's comment, I guess it's from Chinese baggisti, right? So lovely~~ :D
Many many thanks to Angy. Your translation is so great. Sei fantastica (saying like Paola ^_^)
So happy to understand what Roby and Vittorio said.
Nice weekend!
English translation of Roby’s interview
Hi everybody! I translated the video in English for those who don’t understand Italian…ehm English is not my first language so I’m sorry if I mistook something. If you have any doubt or there’s something you didn’t understand here just tell me here in the blog and I’ll explain ok?
Have a nice day!!
Vittorio: So Roby your 41st birthday is very close and we have made Heroes Company as a gift to ourselves, what have these 5-6 months of Heroes Company given to you?
Roberto: First of all, this is something I have been thinking about for a long time. It’s a beautiful, deep, funny thing, I think doing something for other people has always been our wish, our goal and so this project has begun. As an initial gift, we’ve been to Rome to take this very important award from the City of Rome for Aung San Suu Kyi who, as many of you know, has been a Nobel prize winner for peace and has been living exiled in her house since 1991, since almost 18 years and it is absurd that the military dictatorship can do this nowadays, that is depriving people from the right that every human been shall have which is freedom. We received this award for her and succeeding in giving it directly to her own hands in her own land would be beautiful, if we get the permission to do it. So this is our next aim, we’re hoping it’s possible.
V: Roby, if we should give a message today to all those thousands of people, and as I know they’re millions of people…’cause last time we were in China the Chinese government told us that only in China there were more than 60 millions of your fans, remember that? Now I don’t know how many are they all around the world…you know we receive thousands of letters, your blog is already a community where people meet each other…so what emotion does all this give to you? when you read them, when you go to the blog which is our closest means to get to the people, you know about the letters because we unload full bags of letters…so what kind of emotion does all this give to you today after so many years?
R: The emotion is indescribable…knowing that so many people still follows me after many years I’ve quitted playing football is just indescribable…as you said, not only in Italy but also around the world we have received a lot of love. Being honest, when we recently went to China, after 3 years I haven’t played anymore I didn’t expect such a warm welcome, I didn’t thought there was all this waiting for me, instead, all these thoughts revealed to be mistaken because it was something unique- (Vittorio’s mobile phone rings)
V: (ironically) Could it be some Chinese person calling us? (He talks at the phone) yes, yes, yes I’m interviewing Roby, ok, bye (now talks to Roby) I’m sorry, I interrupted you…where were we?
R: Ah I don’t know. I don’t know, every time I speak you interrupt me! (They both laugh) We were talking about China, about how it was…
V: Yeah after 3 years all this love did amazed me too.
R: Absolutely! I will never forget that night when we arrived to Huang jo (I’m sorry I don’t how to write that) when they made a giant heart made of candles at the hotel parking
V: Oh yeah with colored candles remember? At first a heart and then a greeting remember?
R: Absolutely, it was beautiful, incredible!
Please update your news,dear Roby.
So kind of you to show us the photo with heat shape and your name which screened in China.
Please do come China again if possible.
Haaaaaappy birthday Dear ROBY, green pitch like all your loves missed you so much, hope you have a wonderful and joyful moments beside your family. Forza Baggio for EVER
Hi Roby, thanks a lot for the video! Oh you don't know how much I miss u~~ It's great to see you and hear you after such a long time. Like sis Celine, I love that cap, ah no, those caps very much ^_^. Love you both, Roby and Vittorio.
Could any Italian baggista please translate this interview into English? Most of us here in English blog don't understand Italian. Plzzzz... So eager to know what Roby and Vittorio said during the talk~~
It's great to see Roby and Vittorio in video after almost 6 months!!!
Though I couldn't understand all of what you are saying in the video, I do catch some.
It is us who should be thankful.
And where can we buy the hat that Vittorio is wearing in the video, with a Heroes Company logo on it??? I'd love to have one and wear it all day long. :P

To dear Linh,
Yes that beautiful heart was made by some most faithful Baggisti in Hangzhou(Roby's second stop in China, the most famous resort, too, with its West Lake).
Though I was in Beijing and not with them, I'm proud to say that they are all from Herobaggio and some are my best friends. :)

(to be continued in the next video)
Bye!

ah, personally I wouldn't want to see Roby become a coach......too stressful and too bad for health.
I hope Roby could live the way he wants, not influenced by the media or anyone.
Of course this also means that we would see him less than if he were a coach...but I'd rather see him enjoy life, It will be the best gift for me.
Good news is that we have this blog to receive first-hand tidings of Roby. :P

It is us who should be thankful.
And where can we buy the hat that Vittorio is wearing in the video, with a Heroes Company logo on it??? I'd love to have one and wear it all day long. :P

Happy Belated B'day! I've been your fan since 1990 and I still remember your beautiful goal vs Chekozlovakia. One of the most beautiful WC goals ever.
You're the reason why I love football - Italian football of course. Wish to see you back to football. Coaching maybe?
